Jane Farrington

With a background in Theatre and Textile design, Jane taught Art & Design for many years at numerous F.E and H.E Institutions.

Through her work Jane explores The Magical World of Theatre and Performance to create imagery using combinations of mixed media, drawing and collage. 

These qualities are reflected in her striking and unusual pieces which are inspired by the traditions of Theatre and Pantomime.

Her lifelong passion for collecting Theatrical Objects; toys, puppets, masks and costume have been a constant influence on her work. Jane is drawn to the Theatrical worlds that exist both historically and magically … where the onlooker can catch a glimpse to what lies …. behind the curtain.

Jane has exhibited in a wide range of venues across the UK, her recent Exhibitions include: Theatre Clywdd – Mold, Bantock House – Wolverhampton, Oriel   Gallery - Newtown & Maestro Arts – London.

Materials: manipulated old fabric’s and collected accessories, variety of papers and distressed mixed surfaces, pen, ink, pencil, paint, print.
